“Digital Making Places” pilot project

The "Digital Making Places" pilot project in North Rhine-Westphalia aims to promote creative learning scenarios through the use of digital tools. It enables students and learners to realize innovative projects such as podcast productions, 3D printing, and explanatory videos.

The “Digital Making Places” are digital factories and learning spaces that support creative problem-solving and the application of collaborative working methods.

There are four specialized creative areas:

  • Visual Place: Creation of video projects with professional equipment.

  • Audio Place: Production of podcasts and music using modern technologies.

  • Haptic / Tinker Place: Creative design with 3D printers and laser cutters.

  • Coding / Flex Place: Digital projects with robots and microcontrollers.

The project is interdisciplinary and promotes a holistic learning environment. It is supported as part of the "DigitalPakt Schule" (Digital School Pact) and is the result of a collaboration between the NRW Ministry of Education, the NRW Media Advisory Service, the state media centers, and the municipal media centers. Further information about the project is available via our contact details.
