Media center of the Herford district - center for digital education

As a center for digital education, we support school and extracurricular institutions in the Herford district competently on their way into the digital world with our range of services.

The services of the media center are available to the employees of all schools, daycare centers and extracurricular educational institutions as well as youth and social work in the Herford district.

 

With the media center, the district of Herford fulfills the tasks of the school board in accordance with the NRW school law.

Team Medienzentrum Kreis Herford

The media center is a municipal facility to support the educational work of schools, day-care centers and non-profit educational institutions in the Herford district. In addition to lending magnetic blackboards, Montessori materials and anatomical models, the media center has various programming kits (Lego Education), a universal child-friendly modular media system for technology lessons (UMT®) and themed and experiment kits for different subjects at all types of school.


The entire range of offers can be viewed via the Bildungsmediathek NRW. All online media can be downloaded, edited and/or streamed here with a license and legally secure for use in the educational sector. Various devices from iPads, Windows tablets, beamers, displays and screens to audio and video equipment for simple and more demanding productions are available for collection by appointment.


The media center also advises schools, school authorities and educational institutions on the purchase of IT hardware and software.
In the media center's new MediaLab, devices and media are available ready-to-use and can be tried out independently.

In NRW, the municipal media centers support schools and extracurricular educational institutions in the development of media competence, provide them with various educational media and also advise on digital technology and equipment.
